For all QUB students -

As you hopefully know the QUB SU elections are being held today. As members of a university club these elections have a very real impact on our club and we should try and make our voices heard.

I'm asking all students in QUB BJJ to vote for Niall Bole for VP of clubs and societies. I saw Niall's campaign poster on the way to a lecture and was immediately impressed by the fact that he sees a huge problem with the way the PEC is handling charging of membership for people to attend clubs; for non-students as well as students. He would aim to correct this.

A further problem is the current system of funding. Those of you who aren't on the QUB BJJ committee or a coach may not know that we applied for funding in May last year and to date have still not received our main grant. Niall would try to sort out the shambolic funding system so we can get more money to help send you guys to tournaments and pay for seminars from high level instructors.

Something else worth noting is that Niall actually turned up to our training session last friday and spent about 20 minutes talking with me even after i'd made it clear i was already going to vote for him - he then went on to speak in person to the next club on his list. I haven't received so much as an email from the other candidates so it's clear how much they value us and how much effort they'll put into looking out for us next year.

I already voted for him before I saw your post. Definitely sounds like the type of guy who gets stuff done!

Very smart move on his part coming to talk to the clubs on a 1-to-1 basis!

I'm going to campaign for him to anyone I know that goes to QUB! Lol!
